A house fire in east Wichita killed one man and left a woman in critical condition.

Larry Blythe, a 77-year-old resident, discovered his car was stolen on May 9 outside his east Wichita home—he needs the vehicle to reach life-saving treatment for prostate cancer and kidney failure, and his family has raised over $1,000 to help him replace it.

A 45-year-old inmate serving two life sentences for murder died Saturday night after staff found him unresponsive in his cell at Larned State Correctional Facility+ officials attempted life-saving measures and transferred him to a hospital where he later died+ investigators are now probing his death.
