EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ USD 471 in Dexter ended its fall semester early on Monday as many staff and students got sick. This led to canceling end-of-semester events (spring classes will start Jan. 5). KWCH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ McConnell Air Force Base is holding preparedness drills today as tornado sirens sound at noon for five minutes. On Wednesday, the base will conduct an active shooter drill plus tests of loudspeaker systems plus the movement of emergency response vehicles, causing delays for visitors because of increased security. - ➤ U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is in Wichita today for tours of the Boeing facility, NIAR ATLAS lab, and Textron Aviation Career Learning Center plus a ribbon cutting at the NIAR Hub and a 40th anniversary celebration (joined by Senator Jerry Moran). KWCH
