- ➤ Kirsten Bender, owner of The Popcorner — a local business in Wichita — created the Turkey Tom Popcorn Tin to honor Tom the turkey who has been a favorite visitor for over two years. A portion of each tin’s proceeds will go to the Great Plains Nature Center and a second batch is planned after the first sold out in four days. KSN

- ➤ At the new Carl Brewer Community Center, art installations by local and international artists honor Black Wichita heroes and pay tribute to Mayor Brewer — featuring bold Ghanaian designs that show strong ties to community heritage. The center now hosts the Kansas Black Educators Hall of Fame, with votes open until Jan. 9 and an induction ceremony planned for Feb. 28. The Voice
