Texas Roadhouse is offering free meal vouchers to veterans and active duty military on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. if they show valid proof of service—military or VA cards or discharge papers.
On Saturday, volunteers at Risen Savior Lutheran Church and other local groups packed 100,000 meals to help families facing food insecurity from SNAP challenges—half of the meals were for Wichita residents while the rest went to Haiti.
A local graphic designer also led a food drive that raised funds covering over 900 meals, with donations delivered to the Kansas Food Bank on Monday.

The Second Light Emergency Shelter will open today to provide residents with additional emergency housing — officials confirmed the new facility as part of local support efforts.
HumanKind Ministries is opening its Second Light Emergency Shelter at 1025 N.
Main St. tonight at 8 p.m. to help Wichita residents prepare for cold weather that starts tomorrow; the shelter will remain open until Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.—an 11 p.m. curfew is in effect and a first responder escort is recommended after curfew.
