- ➤ The Salvation Army delayed its coat distribution because a blown transformer disrupted power at the distribution site. Officials said the group will announce a new date soon—rescheduling the event. KWCH
- ➤ After a transformer blew on Friday, The Salvation Army postponed its free Warm Hearts Coat Distribution for Sedgwick County residents, rescheduling it for October 27—October 31. The event will run from 9:30 a.m.—3:00 p.m. at its downtown and West Orchard locations while Evergy completes repairs. KWCH
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Downtown Wichita lost power Friday after a fire broke out in an underground electrical vault near 3rd and Market — Evergy restored service within an hour after shutting off power temporarily to the area from Murdock to Maple and from Market to Seneca. KNSS

- ➤ Crispy Donuts, recently named Wichita’s Most Liked Donut Shop, is expanding to northwest Wichita with a new location at 2110 N Maize Road — the space previously housed several Mexican restaurants and the shop has not yet set an opening date. Wichita By E.B.
