  • ➤ Peerless, the longtime downtown bar at 919 E. Douglas, closed after nearly a decade in service. The bar opened in 2016, underwent a brief closure and new ownership before its run ended in 2025—no reason was given for the closure and it is unknown what will replace the space.  Wichita By E.B.

  • ➤ Experts said on September 28th that a shortage of attorneys in Kansas hurt access to justice — more funding and interest are needed to address the problem.  KWCH
  • ➤ Sedgwick County is considering consolidating its tag offices to streamline services—county officials have not given a detailed timeline, and more information will be shared soon.  KSN
