BUSINESS NEWS

  • Peerless, the longtime downtown bar at 919 E. Douglas, closed after nearly a decade in service. The bar opened in 2016, underwent a brief closure and new ownership before its run ended in 2025—no reason was given for the closure and it is unknown what will replace the space.  Wichita By E.B.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Experts said on September 28th that a shortage of attorneys in Kansas hurt access to justice — more funding and interest are needed to address the problem.  KWCH
  • Sedgwick County is considering consolidating its tag offices to streamline services—county officials have not given a detailed timeline, and more information will be shared soon.  KSN
