  • The Charles F. McAfee Pool at McAdams park was added to the National Register of Historic Places because of its unique design and role in Wichita’s African American history. • Father Emil Kapaun, a Kansas native and the most decorated Army chaplain known for his bravery in the Korean War, is honored in a new digital graphic novel series by the Association of the United States Army—its full-color edition will be printed for an upcoming AUSA Annual Meeting. ECONOMY NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A study released this week finds that Kansas did not meet its legal promises to improve foster care conditions—local advocacy groups say access to mental health care for foster children is only 60% instead of the required 90% and they urge the state to pass a new House bill to reform the system.  KWCH
  • Today, Kansas AG Kobach filed a lawsuit against Snapchat alleging the app misleads parents and harms teens by showing explicit content and providing addictive features—like snap streaks and infinite scroll—even though its rating is 12+, which he said violates the Kansas Consumer Protection Act.
