Wichita’s 12th annual Recovery Idol will be held on Saturday, Sept.

Wichita Public Schools face teacher shortages and heavy workloads that affect classroom conditions; WSU and local districts are launching apprenticeship programs (including a new teacher academy) to improve recruitment and retention, especially for special education roles.
