- ➤ Kansas Gas Service is responding to reports of a strong natural gas smell near 13th and Greenwich — Sedgwick County dispatch said several calls were received and noted that the exact location remains unconfirmed. KWCH
- ➤ Residents in northeast Wichita reported a natural gas smell near the intersections of 37th Street North and Webb and 13th and 21st Streets near K-96 and Kansas Gas Service was contacted after multiple 911 calls were received—odorants are added to gas for leak detection. KSN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A study by the University of Kansas found that Kansans do not have enough detox programs that ease opioid withdrawal with medicine and counseling. The survey of more than 2,000 people showed that stigma and a lack of providers make it hard for people to get treatment. The Beacon
- ➤ The American Heart Association updated its guidance on high blood pressure treatment after noting that 46% of adults have the condition — doctors are now advised to consider medication for readings above 130/80, to promote healthy lifestyle choices and use weight loss drugs for lowering blood pressure, and to follow distinct guidelines for pregnant women.
