- ➤ The Alford Branch Library held a grand reopening celebration Saturday with a ribbon cutting that featured remarks by City Council Member Dalton Glasscock and Director of Libraries Jaime Nix—after remodeling the teen space, public computing area, and main customer service desk, the branch added new study rooms and meeting spaces while hosting crafting, musical, and art programs for the community. The improvements aim to better serve local residents and enhance community engagement. KNSS
- ➤ The City Crew program by the City of Wichita is offering free kids activities for ages 2-12 at different locations throughout the year. Upcoming events include a golf adventure on September 27 at Tex Consolver Golf Course from 11am-1pm, a nature quest on November 15 at Great Plains Nature Center from 12-2pm, and a holiday evening on December 5 at Naftzger Park from 6-8pm + each event provides fun games, hands-on activities, and prizes. - ➤ Two people were injured and one was critically hurt in a shooting on the 400 block of W. Waterman St. Sunday afternoon — police worked multiple scenes, including near the QuikTrip at the intersection of Douglas and Seneca, to gather information. KWCH

- ➤ The Immersive Van Gogh exhibit is open now in Wichita and runs through December 29—visitors can explore 360-degree digital shows and a VR experience that places them under 'The Starry Night', with the full exhibit available Thursday through Monday. KWCH

- ➤ A Harper County farmer burned five percent of his wheat crop after heavy rains made the field too wet for combines to work—he said the decision was one of the saddest he’s had to make and he will focus on planting next season. KWCH
