- ➤ The Wichita Police Department added Syd—a 6-year-old mare donated by the Sidnee Carter Memorial Fund in honor of fallen officer Sidnee Carter who died in 2022 on patrol. The fund will hold a fundraiser in October for the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit. KSN
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A vehicle hit two pedestrians on Thursday night near the intersection of Pawnee—Meridian in south Wichita, leaving one with critical injuries and the other seriously hurt. KSN
- ➤ A 16-year-old girl jumped from her parent's moving car near Wichita High School Southeast — at the intersection of 127th Street East and Pawnee on Thursday morning and suffered a head injury before being taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. KSN

- ➤ A Wichita refugee family broke their silence after their 14-year-old son, Jackson Nzabonimpa, was killed in a hit-and-run crash last Wednesday—local authorities are investigating the case. KAKE

- ➤ The Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience exhibit opens today at 3535 N. Rock Rd., Suite 100 in Wichita and uses two-story projection technology and virtual reality to bring Vincent Van Gogh’s sunflowers and other colorful paintings to life. The exhibit highlights the artist’s emotions from 137 years ago and may run through October. KSN
