On Sunday, Cure Violence ICT hosted 'Between the Space: From Conflict to Connection' in Wichita — former rival gang members Essex Sims and Elbert Costello shared personal stories to show how conversation can reduce conflict and gun violence.
The group plans a similar event in a few months to build lasting community bonds.
🎓 Education
Crews installed the KU and WSU logos on the new downtown biomedical campus Friday to mark a joint initiative that brings learning, research, and care together to tackle healthcare workforce shortages statewide.
The campus is set to open in spring (2027).
🏥 Health
Officials announced that the Wichita biomedical campus is receiving a full redesign (with upgraded labs and modern facilities).
The revamped campus will boost research opportunities and is set to be showcased next month.
