ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A pedestrian was killed at Love's Travel Stop in northeast Wichita on August 13 when he was struck by a vehicle, and police are investigating the crash. KWCH
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A hit-and-run on Wednesday evening near Harry and Rock Road in east Wichita killed a child between 10 and 14—police arrested a 24-year-old and a 19-year-old for fleeing the scene. KNSS
- ➤ Police said 47-year-old Robert Shauna Berger—wanted after shooting his ex-wife outside Wesley Medical Center—shot himself during a tense standoff and was later found dead in a north Wichita apartment on Tuesday. FOX Kansas
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A WalletHub survey of over 600 two-year colleges found that three Kansas schools rank among the nation’s best as fall semester will soon begin. Manhattan Area Technical College is ranked second — Pratt Community College third and Colby Community College 15th. KWCH
- ➤ WSU Tech Foundation announced it received a $2M gift from Textron Aviation to expand its National Center for Aviation Training in far northeast Wichita. The project will add about 85,500 square feet of space for 1,450 students, with construction starting this month, classes set for January 2027, and a new training hangar to be named the Cessna + Beechcraft by Textron Aviation Hangar.
