An off-duty officer shopping in Wichita stopped a shooting outside Towne East Mall on Friday that began from a fight among five teenagers and led to two victims being hospitalized in critical but stable condition — the shooter was arrested on two counts of attempted murder.
Thomas Lewis Williams, 64, and Oswaldo Gutierrez-Rodriguez, 29, have been charged with drug trafficking after federal and local officers found drugs, firearms, cash, and meth supplies during searches in Haysville and Wichita—both men will appear today before a U.S. Magistrate Judge amid a joint investigation.
Wichita police said an unidentified body was found in a neighborhood pond (Aug.
10) and investigators are collecting evidence to determine what happened.
A Wichita woman with terminal cancer opened a roadside bakery to help with her medication costs.

Sedgwick County Health Department will hold vaccination clinics for Wichita-area students on Saturday, Aug.
