- ➤ Pink Saloon x Assembly 19, a well-known boutique in Wichita, reopened today at Bradley Fair at 8111 E 21st St N—next to YaYa’s Euro Bistro after leaving its former location at The Waterfront on Webb Road. - ➤ Kansas Highway Patrol said criminals are using cloned vehicles to trick residents by altering identification numbers— a scam noted in 14 confirmed cases that can cost victims over $100,000 combined. KSN
- ➤ Wichita police investigated an alleged suicide-by-cop incident at the North substation at 21st and Hillside on Thursday morning after 19 year old Nehemiah Flemming pulled a gun when questioning officer policy, prompting officers to fire and fatally shoot him; one other man fled but was later found as officers began a post-incident review. - ➤ The Wichita Art Museum is closing the Gordon Parks exhibit today and is hosting a celebration featuring local Black filmmakers Maliq Little, Angelo Garibaldi and Troy Andrews. - ➤ The SBA is reminding small businesses, nonprofits, and residents in Butler, Chase, Cowley, Elk, Greenwood, Harvey, Marion, Sedgwick, and Sumner counties that they must apply for low interest federal disaster loans for June flood damage by Aug. 26. The loans can cover up to $2 million for business repairs and $500,000 for homeowners — interest does not begin until 12 months after disbursement. KSN

- ➤ Wichita Public Schools superintendent Kelly Bielefeld held a press conference Friday to share plans for the new school year, including a new position to boost partnerships and a flag football program for high school girls. In-person enrollment will be held Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., with new teachers starting on Aug. 4, a half-day orientation on Aug. 13 for new middle and high school students, and classes beginning on Aug. 14—offering a full schedule of preparations for all students.
