- ➤ A Wichita man, Larry Ingram, who was convicted of fatally shooting his stepdaughter—who later became his wife—and of committing 17 sex crimes received a sentence on Monday of life in prison plus 1,027 months for over 160 years; his attorney filed an appeal on Tuesday. KSN

- ➤ Maize High announced it will launch a girls flag football program for fall sports. Practices will begin in August and games will start in September—further details have not been provided. KWCH

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Wichita is reviewing a new plan that will let even-numbered addresses water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays while odd-numbered addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with no watering on Sundays or between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.—the City Council will vote on the plan on August 19th.
