  • KMUW News is a team of on-air and digital reporters covering Wichita who have been named Station of the Year by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for six years running—winning additional honors from national and regional groups.  KMUW
  • The Community Voice is marking 30 years of service with a year-long celebration of Black journalism and community stories—its first issue was published on April 5th, 1995. The publication will honor its legacy with special events and reflective coverage throughout the year.  The Voice

  • Union Pacific will host a community open house so residents can learn more about the company’s upcoming projects and speak with officials. Wichita locals should watch for further details regarding the time and location—more information is expected soon.  KWCH
  • Travel Air celebrated its 100th anniversary on July 12th at Jabara Airport—marking a major milestone for the aviation company in Wichita. Company officials said the celebration honored a century of growth and its ongoing impact on local business.  KWCH

CRIME NEWS

  • A 41-year-old man died in an apparent hit-and-run early Friday morning on the eastbound on-ramp to Kellogg Drive from Tyler Road; he was found with severe head injuries (police arrived around 12:46 a.m.) and no suspect vehicle has been identified (investigation continues).  KWCH

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Union Pacific hosted an open house on July 12th to talk about groundwater contamination near 29th and Grove—officials explained test results and planned steps to monitor the area.  KWCH
