A Wichita museum received a huge donation to boost its exhibits and educational programs, officials said (the funds will also support new community events).

Council Member Joseph Shepard has proposed a $600,000 Neighborhood Improvement Fund for grants on home repairs, sidewalk fixes and park beautification in District 1, targeting the 67214 and 67208 areas.

He has received $100,000 and aims to raise more by early 2027 (the District 1 Advisory Board will review proposals).
