ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A motorcycle crash in east Wichita left one person dead and police are investigating the incident. KSN
- ➤ One person died in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Oxford and Rock Rd (Sedgwick County Dispatch confirmed the call shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday) as emergency crews responded (further details are pending). KWCH
- ➤ The Ellsworth County sheriff’s office said that a strong current swept a boat away at Kimble Point on Kanopolis Lake when three swimmers without life jackets were caught in the incident, and boaters rescued Reagen Dalke—she was airlifted to Wichita in serious condition—as her father and best friend remain missing while search efforts shift to recovery using drones. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 2-year-old boy died from severe injuries he suffered earlier this week and his stepfather was booked into Sedgwick County Jail—he now faces a first-degree murder charge. KSN
- ➤ Wichita police responded early Friday to a call of an assault near 29th and Broadway in the 3000 block of North Fairview and arrested a suspect on first-degree murder charges after finding Cesar Gonzalez, 43, unresponsive in a parking lot where he died just before 2 a.m.—the suspect was treated for injuries and released from a nearby hospital. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued an alert after a confirmed measles case was reported at Wichita’s Wesley Medical Center. The alert applies to anyone who spent time on the Fifth-Floor Pediatric Unit in Building 4 between 10 p.m. July 1 and 4:45 p.m. July 3—affected visitors are advised to take steps to prevent further spread—as directed by KDHE.
