- ➤ Lisa Dalke said her child, Reagen, survived hours treading water after an incident on July 4th in Wichita — emergency crews responded promptly and authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. KWCH
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A driver in a 2003 Acura TL with a Texas plate made an unsafe lane change while merging onto Northbound I-135 at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, colliding with two vehicles and fleeing the scene — injuring a 36-year-old Wichita woman. KNSS
- ➤ On Friday, a suspect attempted to steal the beloved smoker from Station 8 BBQ at 11:45 a.m. in broad daylight but was caught when a vigilant citizen spotted the social media video and police later recovered it near 21st and Arkansas—two individuals are now being interviewed. KSN

- ➤ KAKE meteorologist Frank Waugh and filmmaker Lester Rowe produced a short film titled 'Echoes of the Storm' that recounts the 1955 Udall tornado in which 80 people died. They gathered archival photos, interviews and documents—discovering long-forgotten details—to piece together the dramatic story. KMUW
- ➤ Tony Kamel performed his sixth Farha Backyarder Concert Series show indoors on June 23 after thunderstorms forced a change from an outdoor stage to Ted and Teri Farha’s home in Eastborough. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kansas Department of Health reported a measles exposure at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where anyone on the fifth-floor pediatric unit of Building 4 between July 1 at 10 p.m. and July 3 at 4:45 p.m. was at risk. KDHE advised those not fully vaccinated to contact their health provider or the Sedgwick County Health Department — babies aged 6 to 11 months may get the MMR vaccine ahead of schedule. KWCH
