- ➤ A man died Friday afternoon in a north Wichita crash near K-254 and Hydraulic when he lost control—police said he may have suffered a medical emergency and his vehicle caught fire though they are unsure if the blaze started before or after his death. KNSS
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ One person was hurt in a downtown Wichita shooting — police are investigating the incident. KSN
- ➤ Kansas law enforcement agencies honored fallen deputy Brandon Gaede—killed in an officer-involved shooting in Phillipsburg during a call about illegal fireworks on Friday—by escorting his body to Wichita on Saturday for an autopsy at Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Unit as investigators probe the case after a conflict of interest prompted a request from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. - ➤ Wichita Police investigated a shooting that injured a man Friday night at downtown QuikTrip where they arrived shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of Douglas and Washington—authorities say a large gathering may have contributed to the disturbance and no arrests have been made. KNSS
