CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Wichita woman, Tasha Dillard, is set for trial on Sept. 15 after facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of 7-year-old Davion Gunter—shot when a small child found and played with her gun. KWCH
- ➤ Carlos Anderson-Honeycutt received a 50-year sentence without parole in a Sedgwick County courtroom for the first-degree murder of his ex-girlfriend in southeast Wichita—he was arrested near the border two days after the fatal shooting in 2023. KWCH

- ➤ Midtopia — a nonprofit in Wichita that gives local artists low-cost services to record and release vinyl records while letting them keep their music rights — is working to change the music scene. The group aims to empower musicians with affordable resources that grow their careers. KSN

- ➤ Kansas wheat farmers have been making steady progress on the fifth day of harvest despite strong winds, scattered rains, and pressure from wheat streak mosaic virus (growers also express concerns over low market prices).
