- ➤ A Wichita man, Michael D. Dixon Jr., 26, has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm after fatally shooting 23-year-old Sauhni Stallings on Saturday in the 4100 block of West Pine—he is scheduled to appear in court next on July 7. KSN

- ➤ Wichita Mayor Lily Wu has appealed an ethics violation decision that claimed she broke city rules—officials said the ethics board will review her appeal soon. KWCH
- ➤ Downtown Wichita is preparing for paid parking starting July 1 as crews install kiosks and signs on Douglas, St. Francis, and Emporia. Council Member Brandon Johnson said the new system will charge $1 per hour or $5 per day for public lots and $10 per day for parking structures with enforcement from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. - ➤ Wichita presented a $36 million plan to address flooding in Bleckley where residents have faced repeated floods and property loss. Phase one begins June 30 with drainage channel repairs between Kellogg and Waterman — phases two and three will follow next year. KWCH
- ➤ The Wichita Police Department is applying for a federal grant to buy software—letting school staff quickly alert officers during school emergencies.
