  • An abuse victim at Eastminster church asked church leaders to hand over an abuse report to law enforcement— the victim believes the report contains key details needed for the investigation.  KWCH
  • Wichita police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree murder after a Saturday shooting in west Wichita killed 23-year-old Sauhni Stallings on the 4100 block of W. Pine St (he was taken to a hospital before he died).  KSN

CULTURE NEWS

  • Wichita's 2025 Juneteenth Parade was one of the largest in community history with churches, community organizations, businesses and political candidates marching a new route along 13th Street—replacing the traditional backroads on 17th Street. Photographers said challenges arose when capturing images as the parade traveled downhill with the sun behind participants.  The Voice

  • Sedgwick County reminds residents not to call 9-1-1 for fireworks, parties or loud noise and to use the non-emergency line at 316-290-1011 from Friday, June 27 through Sunday, July 6 from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Each city sets its own fireworks rules so buyers should check local guidelines before making purchases.  KNSS
