ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A rollover crash near South Haven Friday night killed 22-year-old Jordan L. Wade of Arkansas City when his 2015 Cadillac ATS ran a stop sign and hit a tree—another passenger, 23, was taken to Wesley Medical Center for serious injuries—Kansas Highway Patrol said.  KWCH
  • Rescue crews recovered 16-year-old Arthur Pollreis’s body after a train hit him on a railroad bridge south of Erie while officials continue to search the Neosho River for 12-year-old Kollin Showalter’s body amid rising water levels from a gate release expected Sunday+a memorial fund has been set up at Southeast Kansas Commercial Bank to support affected families+donations will be accepted for one month.  KWCH

  • A late night shooting on the 2800 block of North Grove on June 21 left three people injured—police are investigating the incident.  KWCH

  • A new Kansas law lets tents sell fireworks early outside Wichita—but not in Wichita—while state officials said the rule is meant to boost safety and enforce clear guidelines.  KWCH

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hundreds of Wichita residents joined the annual Heart Walk at Equity Bank Park on Saturday, raising nearly $80,000 to support heart disease research and local health initiatives – including free blood pressure kits at city libraries. Organizers stressed that the event boosted heart health awareness and encouraged community members to use prevention measures – a sign of the city’s ongoing commitment to heart health.  KSN
