  • Storm winds tore part of the roof off the Villa Boxing Club in Wichita as a strong group helped clear away debris—removing pieces of a structure that has served as a safe haven since 2016. Owner Jacob Villa said the club now faces a challenge to rebuild and preserve its many memories.  FOX Kansas

  • New owners of Towne West Mall gave tenants 14 days to vacate after taking charge in February to fix problems with unpaid electricity bills that resulted in repeated power outages, and several businesses had already left. Business owners now face a tight deadline as management works to resolve the long-standing issues.  FOX Kansas

  • Statewide law enforcement issued a Purple Alert for 58-year-old Tammara Isaacs after she was last seen Tuesday at her home in Yates Center and her 2006 Chevy Malibu was reported missing, noting that she was recently diagnosed with psychosis and is 5 feet 4 inches tall with blue eyes and blonde hair.  KSN

  • Wichita’s famed soul-funk group The Love Family will deliver their final performance Saturday night at Juneteenth in McAdams Park — Bob Love said that only he, Peggy Love, Dennise Love, Rochelle, and Rudy Love Jr. will take the stage as they mark the end of decades of music following Rudy Love’s passing in 2021.  The Voice

  • After Tuesday's storms left thousands in the dark with severe winds, hail, and heavy rain, Evergy crews from several states worked on Wednesday to restore power to 9,000 of 85,000 impacted customers in Wichita. A resident on North Minnesota Street said she lost power for over 24 hours—she hopes Evergy improves its communication as crews work through tree damage and localized repairs.  KWCH
  • 1st Lt. Herbert G. Tennyson, a Wichita pilot missing in action during WWII, will be laid to rest with full military honors at Old Mission Cemetery on Friday, June 27. His remains arrived in Wichita on Friday, June 20 at 10:19 a.m.—he was 24 when his B-24 bomber was shot down over Papua New Guinea and he will be buried next to his wife.  KSN

  • Doctors at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita have noted a rise in toddler iron deficiency linked to drinking more than the recommended 16-24 ounces of milk daily—this excess may block iron absorption and lead to symptoms like tiredness and pale skin.  KWCH

  • Severe storms closed Crestview County Club on Tuesday and caused damage to vendor tents and hospitality suites with (80 mph) winds, and workers are cleaning the site ahead of The Wichita Open, which starts today with open-air seating due to missing roofs.  KSN
