- ➤ Kansas farmers are finalizing equipment checks and monitoring weather forecasts as the 2025 wheat harvest approaches. Second-generation farmer Austin Hiebert in Harvey County said rain (helping the crops but lowering prices) adds a challenge to timing the busy harvest season. KWCH

- ➤ Special education enrollment in Kansas public schools grew by 12,000 in the past decade to 82,000 students—this steady rise is straining teachers and prompting districts to boost recruitment efforts and offer higher pay.
