- ➤ One person was shot in extremely critical condition near 21st and Hillside at 10:35 p.m. on June 14—he was taken to the hospital as authorities investigate the incident. KWCH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ U.S. Northern Command ordered increased security measures at military installations including McConnell Air Force Base — employees and visitors can expect longer wait times and additional checks. The alert comes as a precaution based on world events with no specific threats reported. KNSS
- ➤ On Saturday, hundreds gathered at the corner of Douglas and Broadway in downtown Wichita to join the nationally coordinated 'No Kings Day' protest organized by Defend Democracy ICT. The peaceful demonstration featured chants, drums, and guest speakers urging an end to authoritarian leadership — the event drew protestors near the district offices of Senators Moran and Marshall.
