- ➤ A deadly crash on Thursday night at the intersection of Old Highway 81 and Arrowhead Road injured a local son and killed two others, prompting Moundridge mother Megan Nelson to push for safety improvements—she started an online petition to help prevent future tragedies. KWCH

- ➤ Police confirmed at around 10:40 a.m. Friday—after a brief search—that 10-year-old Maddox was found safe in Wichita. KAKE
- ➤ Ye’Kira Hollins was sentenced to 34 months in prison and 24 months of post-release supervision for throwing acid at teen Passion Turner during a 2024 fight that left Turner with second-degree burns — two other suspects were also charged with aggravated battery. KWCH

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, KDOT will close I-135 in Wichita for construction at the junction of I-325, K-254 and K-96 starting at 5 a.m. until Monday when both northbound and southbound lanes reopen by 6 a.m.—drivers should follow detour signs as northbound lanes are reduced to one lane near the 37th Street bridge for repairs. - ➤ Everfull, the nonprofit that delivers Meals on Wheels and Friendship Meals in ten counties, will end its service on June 30th—leaving thousands of vulnerable seniors without daily meals. It previously provided about 18,000 meals a month and said funding shortfalls led the South Central Kansas Agency on Aging to end its contract. FOX Kansas
