- ➤ Homeowners in West Wichita are still cleaning up after a major storm that hit the area, with many removing debris and fixing damage—work that is expected to continue for some time. KWCH
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials said one person died in a car accident at Kellogg and Tyler on June 7th — police are investigating — and emergency crews responded soon after the crash. KWCH
- ➤ On Saturday evening, a crash at the intersection of Kellogg and Tyler claimed one life and injured two others when two vehicles collided (investigators are working to determine the cause). KWCH
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Derby native Jaelen Johnston (runner-up on NBC's The Voice) gave his first performance since the show today at the Riverfest band stage in Wichita. He grew up in the area but had never attended the city's biggest party before, marking his local debut as a notable return. KSN
- ➤ Emily Rugg, Miss Meadowlark, was crowned Miss Kansas on Saturday at Pratt Community College—21 contestants competed in talent, fitness, evening gown and interview segments. KWCH
- ➤ Today, Bella Andra was crowned Miss Kansas’ Teen 2025 at Pratt Community College as 14 teens competed in several rounds—Kennedy Thompson came in first runner up, Khavayi Tsimonjela was second, and Tiana Hardwell finished fourth. A new Miss Kansas will be crowned tonight at 7 p.m.—Michael Schwanke will serve as emcee. KWCH
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cleanup continues in Wichita and El Dorado after heavy flooding and wind gusts up to 70 mph damaged homes and knocked over many trees in West Wichita. A homeowner said he woke to a big tree crashing into his yard—workers are now cleaning up and repairing the damage. KWCH
