- ➤ Flash flooding in east Wichita led to a water rescue at Bleckley and 1st Street on Tuesday, June 3. KSN

- ➤ Wichita's Doo-Dah Diner will be sold to longtime customers Jeff and Jay Miller and partner Pat Reilly on June 16 as co-founder Patrick battles stage 4 prostate cancer. The diner hosted a Shibley Sendoff on June 14 and will hold a Father’s Day Feast of Kings buffet the day before the sale. KWCH
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Wichita police confirmed early Tuesday morning that missing boys Carson and Jaxon returned home safely. KAKE
- ➤ A man died after being shot in a convenience store at 21st and Minnesota around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday—police say an argument between customers led to the shooting, leaving two employees unharmed and the suspect still at large. KSN
- ➤ Police responded around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday to a shooting at the Valero on the corner of 21st and Minnesota near I-135—authorities later identified the man killed in the incident. KAKE
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Wichita hosted a career fair on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Advanced Learning Library at 711 W. 2nd St where job seekers met with representatives from CityArts, Fire, IT, Law, and Police— and they also attended a CDL career panel featuring Wichita Park & Recreation, Public Works & Utilities and Transit. - ➤ Governor Laura Kelly declared a verbal state of disaster emergency on Tuesday, June 3 at 2:08 p.m. due to heavy rainfall that brought risks of flooding and flash floods. Sedgwick County also declared a local emergency to allow state resources to aid relief efforts. KWCH
- ➤ The Kansas Department of Transportation announced I-135 will fully close in both directions starting at 5 a.m. Saturday for construction work including pavement patching & bridge surface repairs. Southbound lanes will close early Friday at 7 p.m. between the K-254 and K-96 interchanges, and drivers must follow detour signs until all lanes reopen at 6 a.m. Monday. KWCH
