- ➤ Today at Riverfest, concession workers fed crowds at Century II while vendors competed to secure contracts for food stands. Hoops Concessions, which has served the festival for nearly 30 years (and runs five stands), played a key role in keeping the event running smoothly. KSN
- ➤ Wichita Public Library reopened the Maya Angelou Branch Library at 3051 E. 21st Street on Saturday after months of planning and renovations, with a ribbon cutting attended by local leaders including District 1 Council Member Brandon Johnson. The remodeled branch features updated interiors, a sunroom, a relocated study room, improved lighting and a seed library — and now stays open until 8 p.m. to serve the community. KSN

- ➤ The Wichita Police Department has issued a silver alert for 76-year-old man Jose Cota—who suffers from Alzheimer’s, has white hair and brown eyes, and was seen wearing a burgundy shirt and blue jeans—with no area given for his last location; authorities ask anyone with information to call 911. - ➤ A driver tried to flee a traffic stop when his blue GMC Sierra got stuck in the mud near Kansas Highway 34 — officers from Clark, Ford and Comanche counties caught him without injuries. KSN

- ➤ Local teen Wichitan Zinnia Singh took control of affordable healthcare by launching community initiatives during Asian American Pacific Islander month—her efforts are helping Wichita residents access better care—highlighting a new approach to local health challenges. KSN
