- ➤ Yesterday the City of Wichita held a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. for the improved Country Acres Dog Park near Central and Ridge, adding new seating, shelters, hydration stations—plus a wash area for cleaning dog paws. Also yesterday the Laundry Station on Kellogg and Oliver hosted Free Literacy and Laundry Day from 2 to 6 p.m., offering free laundry services, children’s books, face painting and a ribbon cutting for its Read, Play and Learn center. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 47-year-old woman was hospitalized with stab wounds near Broadway and East 12th Street North early Wednesday morning after an argument with a 28-year-old woman—police arrested the 28-year-old suspect and said the victim is expected to survive. KSN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wineteer Elementary School students took part in a STEM egg drop challenge on Wednesday during which Sedgwick County firefighters helped the students drop eggs from a fire truck ladder—only two of the 18 eggs broke as the contest built on lessons from previous years. KSN

- ➤ A new student chapter of the Water Environment Federation has started at Wichita State University to help students address water quality issues in Kansas—meetings and activities will begin this fall. The Sunflower
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wichita Bar Association honored longtime criminal defense attorney Dan Monnat with its 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award for his nearly 50-year career in Kansas and Nebraska—recognizing his work on high-profile cases and his role in legal education. Monnat, who co-founded his law firm in 1985, has built a national reputation while serving the Wichita legal community. KWCH

- ➤ The NFL schedule now shows that the Chiefs will travel to Dallas on Thanksgiving to face the Cowboys after being set for a Christmas Day game against the Broncos. The schedule released Wednesday at 7 p.m. also lists games against the Ravens, Lions, Texans, Bills and an anticipated rematch with the Eagles. KWCH
- ➤ Former Wichita East and NBA player Korleone Young will be inducted into the American Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025—he began his career under coach Ron Allen and now leads local basketball clinics to inspire Wichita youth. KWCH
