- ➤ On May 3, 1999, a devastating F4 tornado hit Haysville, Kansas, killing six people, injuring 145, and destroying 150 homes and 27 businesses — residents still remember the storm and its role in spurring award-winning rebuilding efforts. KWCH
- ➤ Diamond Springs Ranch hosted a Kentucky Derby-themed party on Saturday that brought a slice of Louisville’s race-day excitement to Kansas with food trucks, mixed drinks and casual bets. Owners Logan and Byron Schrag organized the event—letting local guests enjoy a taste of the Derby as they watched the race where Sovereignty won and the jockey took home $3.1 million. KSN
