- ➤ Susan Rogers—a first-grade teacher at Derby Hills Elementary—and Jason Peters—a high school math teacher at Hesston High School were named Region 4 finalists for the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year award during a ceremony held Saturday at the Wichita Marriott Hotel. Both teachers will receive a $2,000 award as they join six other regional semifinalists with the overall winner to be announced on Sept. 20 in Wichita. KSN
