- ➤ Kansas farmers are facing rising prices for fertilizer, fuel & labor as the Iran war increases input costs just before spring planting. Sumner County farmer Robert White said higher expenses may force newer farmers, including his sons, to struggle with profitability. KWCH
- ➤ Local Kansas farmers are facing financial struggles as the ongoing war disrupts supply chains and lowers market prices. They say the impact on operations may continue to affect yields this season. KWCH

- ➤ Local organizers are planning a field day event meant to inspire youth to consider careers in agriculture. The event will offer hands-on activities and opportunities (with farming experts) designed to help participants learn about local farming practices. KWCH
- ➤ Graduate Senator Grant Phillips has proposed a need-based scholarship for rural graduate students in District 1 to address funding gaps; applicants must have a bachelor’s, rural proof, and meet GPA minimums as the proposal is under review by the senate’s Government Oversight Committee (meeting Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.).
