- ➤ Sedgwick County will soon offer an emergency response training class for public safety workers and community volunteers at a local facility. More details on the schedule and location will be released in the coming days. KWCH

- ➤ A third Tropical Smoothie Cafe is set to open at the Cooper Ridge strip center at 217 S. Ridge Road this summer. The fast-casual chain is known for its made-to-order fruit and veggie smoothies (along with wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, and bowls). Wichita By E.B.
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Make48’s 10th regional competition was held from March 20 to 22 at GoCreate on the WSU campus. Student teams prototyped air travel solutions with Fastenal support, and two groups earned spots for nationals this fall. The Sunflower
- ➤ Students at Cunningham High School built a one-bedroom house for a construction class; the finished project will be auctioned May 2 at 5 p.m. to support the program. KWCH
- ➤ Wichita State’s Student Senate unanimously passed a bill to change the underserved senator role to an at-large seat open to all students (the move comes after a budget proviso ended DEI programming). The student body will vote on the change in the upcoming SGA election starting April 6. The Sunflower

- ➤ Wichita State University has installed naloxone distribution boxes on campus to increase access to life saving medication. Officials say the move is intended to reduce opioid risks for students and staff, with the boxes available as of today. KWCH
