- ➤ Destination Playscape opened at Exploration Place Friday, Mar. 13. The new play area offers interactive features for families and children to enjoy local recreation. KWCH
- ➤ The Reno County Food Bank opened a new facility five times larger than its old location on Thursday, designed to look like a grocery store so visitors feel more at ease. The larger space will help the organization serve more people amid ongoing food insecurity (23% of residents affected). KWCH
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Sedgwick County Zoo reopened Stingray Cove on Friday and it will run through October, offering community members a final chance to pet and feed stingrays. Zoo officials say this season is the exhibit’s last opportunity for an up-close marine experience. KWCH

- ➤ Kansas farmers could face higher corn and wheat prices as the war in Iran pushes up fertilizer costs+ wheat now sits at a two-year high, and extra input expenses may cut into summer crop profits. KWCH

- ➤ Eight teachers in Wichita Public Schools received the Distinguished Classroom Teacher Award last Thursday, including construction teacher Aaron Haselwood of East High — nominated by parents and peers and chosen by a committee of principals and administrators to recognize their impact on education quality. - ➤ Wichita State’s Student Senate passed a resolution on Wednesday recommending an honorary A+ be added to transcripts without altering GPAs. The measure passed with 16 votes for and 7 against amid debate over a small survey sample. The Sunflower
