  • A cash mob event will be held at 525 E. Douglas on Sunday, March 1 from noon to 3 p.m. The event will bring local artisans together, offer interactive opportunities, prize giveaways & drink samplings at Bubbles Champagne Bar, all free to attend.  Wichita By E.B.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Melody McCray-Miller, a longtime member of the WPS Board of Education & a former state representative and Sedgwick County Commissioner, died on Feb. 22 at age 69. Her service influenced local education and government practices.  KWCH

HEALTH NEWS

  • A manufacturer announced an airbag recall on Feb. 22 after safety concerns emerged, and affected Wichita vehicle owners are advised to contact local dealers for inspection.  KWCH
  • Stellantis issued a stop driving notice for select 2003-2016 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles because defective Takata airbags may explode; Wichita recall specialist Brian West is connecting owners with free mobile repairs.  KWCH

  • Special Olympics Kansas held a regional basketball tournament on Saturday in Haysville — teams played and cheered as they prepared for the state event in Manhattan.  KWCH
  • Athletic directors from KU, KSU and WSU met in Topeka last month seeking state funding as college sports costs rose.  KWCH
