- ➤ Lawrence artist Kim Brook is asking local support to create 3,600 handmade Valentine's Day cards for Meals on Wheels recipients in Douglas County, Topeka and Wichita; volunteers of all ages are invited to join her card-making events while donations help cover supplies, venues and artist fees. - ➤ Kansas lawmakers are considering a bill that would classify kratom with hard drugs like cocaine and meth. Lawmakers will discuss the proposal Monday, Feb. 16 while Happy Teahouse stresses that natural kratom is distinct from its synthetic form. KWCH

- ➤ Former Wichita radio DJ Greg 'The Hitman' Williams, who was laid off after 25 years in Mar. 2025 from Power 93.5 + KEYN, is battling stage four cancer and his family has launched a GoFundMe to help with mounting medical bills after a Jan. 28 hospitalization. KWCH
