  • The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum hosted Kansas Day on Sunday featuring bluegrass music and speakers who celebrated Kansas’ 165th birthday and the cowboy era (1870 to 1875) that shaped local heritage. The event brought the frontier spirit to life for the community.  KWCH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • House and Senate bills propose creating a Kansas Railroad Hall of Fame at the Great Plains Transportation Museum in downtown Wichita to aid in locomotive restoration + historical preservation; museum director Lon Smith said lawmakers remain unsure if the proposals will pass.  KWCH

SPORTS NEWS

  • In a tightly contested game at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Sunday afternoon, Wichita State lost 93-83 to Tulsa after trailing until the Golden Hurricane’s efficient second half. Wichita State will face Charlotte at the Roundhouse on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.  KWCH
