- ➤ United Way of the Plains received a $2.2 million grant from the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation to help low-income families avoid homelessness in Sedgwick County. The funding will support short-term aid for rent, utilities, and childcare starting July 1. KWCH

- ➤ Wichita State University announced that three students received the $64,000 Harry Gore memorial scholarship for fall. Local high school seniors Kayden Lankford (Valley Center) and Samantha McClintock from Central Christian Academy plus Mackenzie Bucl from McKinney beat 525 competitors in the selection process. KWCH
- ➤ Butler Community College held a two-minute moment of silence on Thursday at noon to honor biology professor Lindsey Fields, who lost her life in the Flight 5342 collision last year. The college now names a classroom in her memory. FOX Kansas

- ➤ Wichita doctors and zoo staff treated a (2-year-old) chimpanzee named Alizeti after an altercation with the troop’s alpha male resulted in a serious toe injury. The surgical team performed a ray amputation, and she is now recovering while staff plan to remove her cast later this week. KMUW
