  • More than 500 people joined Kansas' First Day Hike at Cheney State Park on Jan. 1, celebrating the new year with a scenic outdoor walk that brought neighbors together to kick off healthy beginnings.  KWCH
  • More than 500 people gathered at Cheney State Park on Thursday during First Day Hikes, a statewide event where families, serious hikers, and groups took a five-mile trail to kick off a healthy 2026.  KWCH
