About this event
This is a joyous way of celebrating new year by offering feast of food items to the GOD and sharing well wishes with families and friends. We will have Govardhan Puja followed by Bhajans and celebrate Annkut.
Govardhan Puja 5:00–5:30 PM (performed by Panditji; sponsorship $51)
Bhajans 5:30–6:00 PM
Hanuman Chalisa and Aarati at 7:00 PM, followed by dinner.
What is Annakut? Lord Krishna taught that Govardhan, the manifestation of the Supreme Lord of Nature, should be worshipped rather than Indra. When Indra sent torrential rains in anger, Krishna lifted Govardhan hill to shelter the people. Annakut, the decorated mountain of food, symbolizes Govardhan. It is performed with great zeal in Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
